Community / Growth Lead

Location: San Francisco, CA ยท in-person Reports to GP, Shruti Gandhi

About Array Ventures

Array Ventures is a pre-seed B2B deeptech fund that invests in technical founders from Day 0 to Series A. With $250M+ AUM across 4 funds and 80+ investments, two-thirds of Array's portfolio companies have gone on to raise from top-tier investors including a16z, Sequoia, Accel, IVP, and Menlo Ventures, and have exited to F500 companies like PayPal, Amazon, and Apple.

We do not vibe-invest. The team dives into technical stacks, reads research papers, and evaluates the actual defensibility of what founders are building. We back hardcore AI, data, security, and infrastructure companies. The boring-but-beautiful stuff that actually makes the world run.

Array also runs an in-house AI Lab where the team experiments with frontier tooling and builds internal systems alongside our portfolio. Think: a startup inside a VC. You get real ownership, no red tape, and direct access to Shruti and the broader network from day one.

Quick facts

  • 100K+ community of founders, engineers, and operators
  • $250M+ AUM across 4 funds and 80+ portfolio companies
  • We back technical founders from Day 0 to Series A in AI infrastructure, cybersecurity, HealthTech, FinTech, and enterprise SaaS
  • Array AI Labs: an in-house lab experimenting with frontier tooling alongside our portfolio
  • Team of 4: flat, fast, and founder-empathetic

Responsibilities

This role owns how Array shows up for founders, in person and online. You will keep our community growing, our calendar full, and our portfolio companies supported. Day to day, that looks like:

  • Plan and publish content across our channels, from the newsletter to social to the Array site, in a voice founders recognize
  • Grow and look after a 100K+ community of founders, engineers, and operators, so it stays useful rather than noisy
  • Organize events in San Francisco, from founder dinners and roundtables to hackathons and Array AI Labs demos, and run them end to end
  • Support portfolio companies with launches, hiring pushes, intros, and community programs
  • Experiment constantly with new tools, AI included, to automate community operations and find new growth channels
  • Measure what works: track growth, engagement, and event outcomes, and report back on what to double down on
  • Keep the team organized: calendars, CRM hygiene, event logistics, and the follow-ups that otherwise fall through the cracks

Is this you?

You have built or grown a community before and can show the numbers. You try new tools before anyone asks you to. You are as comfortable writing a post as running a room of founders, and you are the person who keeps everyone else organized.

  • Highly creative: you have ideas for content and events every week, and you ship them
  • Technical enough to set up the tools yourself: automations, no-code builders, AI assistants, the odd script
  • Organized and reliable: details, deadlines, and follow-ups are where you shine
  • A strong writer with an ear for how founders and engineers talk
  • Genuinely interested in startups, enterprise AI, and the people building them
  • Self-directed: you create momentum without waiting to be told

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience running community, content, events, or growth at a startup, accelerator, developer-tools company, or VC firm
  • A community or audience you grew, with numbers you can point to
  • In-person events you planned and ran end to end
  • Comfort with modern event, newsletter, CRM, and automation tools, and with AI tools
  • Active in the SF startup or AI community
  • Bonus: a following or body of work of your own, such as writing, a newsletter, a podcast, or an event series

What we are NOT looking for

  • Candidates from Array Ventures portfolio companies
  • Anyone looking for a social-media-management-only role
  • Managers looking to manage: this is a hands-on role
  • Anyone whose interest leans toward Web3, real estate, or consumer social

  • Access to Array's network of top VCs, F500 corporate partners, and 80+ portfolio founders
  • Real ownership from day one: you set the community and events strategy, not just run it
  • Room to experiment with new tools, formats, and channels
  • In-person in SF with a tight-knit, high-trust team of 4
  • A seat inside Array AI Labs, one of the most active applied AI experiments in the VC world
