About

Blendid makes autonomous robotic kiosks that blend smoothies to order. Each kiosk is a self-contained shop: customers order and customize on their phones, and the robot makes the drink from whole frozen fruit and vegetables, up to 30 an hour, with no staff on site.

Vipin Jain, Venki Ayalur and Vijay Dodd, all three veterans of Barnes & Noble's Nook, started the company in 2015 and opened the first commercial kiosk in March 2019. The kiosks now run in colleges, hospitals, gyms and retail, and the company plans to extend the same system to bowls, soups and other foods.
