Overview builds AI vision systems that inspect parts on manufacturing lines. Each smart camera carries its own GPU, so models train and run on the device and production data never leaves the factory floor, and vision-transformer models learn new defects from far fewer images than traditional machine vision, so a new inspection can go live in days.
Chris Van Dyke, Russell Nibbelink, Xiaoyang Kao and Austin Appel founded Overview in 2018 after years scaling production at Tesla, where they had tried every inspection system on the market. It went through Y Combinator in 2019 and raised a $10M Series A led by Blumberg Capital in 2022.
